Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On provides a single point of validation for portal user credentials, and governs user access to intranet resources based on employee profiles.
When a user logs into a portal page, the Single Sign-On Server validates the user name and password against an internally maintained table of users. The Single Sign-On Server also makes use of user profiles stored in Oracle Internet Directory (OiD). For network encryption and authentication, Oracle Advanced Security provides a comprehensive suite of security services, including support for the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). The HTTP server module mod_ossl enables secure HTTPS connections between the HTTP server and the portal client. |
